LFDM #4 launch + new site!

It's finally happening - LFDM magazine is ready to rock the art scene once more!

All are invited to the launch party to celebrate the magazine’s fourth issue, Secret, which will take place on Sunday, March 8, 9:00 p.m. at le Bisou, 4147 Boulevard St-Laurent. Tous sont invités au lancement du 4e numéro de LFDM Secret, qui aura lieu le 8 mars 21h à 24h à le Bisou, 4147 boul. St-Laurent.

Setting the party beat will be a special debut performance by Paddle to the Sea, fronted by entrancing vocalist Philip Shearing, as well as the awesome Hugh Manatee Party and this city’s freshest jazz voice, Charlotte Joy Callender. Le Bisou, a much-needed new addition to the Plateau — featuring affordable gourmet eats, art gallery and concerts — is offering up free tapas and super drink specials for the event.

“The magazine is definitely worth the look, as it is well-curated and really an all-around fun and often insightful read. Props to Annie Briard and Edwin Janzen for editing brilliant work.” —Julien Ceccaldi, Inside the Frozen Mammoth

Les Fleurs du Mal’s Secret issue features Meg Walker’s exploration of Isabelle Pauwels’ inversions of pornography; Laura Paolini’s journey back to a unique, game-show moment featuring John Cage; Christopher Olson’s exposition on the social history of the T.V. laugh track; Michelle Lacombe’s review of Joshua Schwebel’s hiding-as-performance-art research; as well as cutting-edge work by artists Marc Peters, Aleks Bartosik, Matthew Thomson, Valérie Sangin — and much, much more.

Les Fleurs du Mal magazine finally made it online thanks to our fabulous designer Isabella Amodei and tech support by the magical Julian Gollner. Thanks guys!
